C&D Logistics is a family run freight and logistics company founded in 1999 by Bruce and Dana Matheson. What began as a Surrey, BC operation moving less-than-truckload and full truckload freight by rail and road across Canada has grown into a full service freight and third-party logistics provider handling every type of freight on every type of equipment, throughout North America and around the world. Our Story
Bruce and Dana started C&D Logistics with a simple idea: small, medium, and large businesses all need a reliable way to move freight, and most of them were stuck choosing between carriers who were too big to know their name or too small to handle real volume. We built our company to sit in the middle, close enough to know every shipment and every customer, capable enough to move a single pallet or a full cross-border truckload with the same attention to detail.
That family run mentality still shapes how we operate today. We're not a call centre reading from a script. When you call our Surrey head office, you're talking to a team that has spent years learning the freight classes, the HAZMAT categories, and the bill-of-lading types that trip up shippers who don't move freight every day. We've expanded from domestic Canadian freight into cross-border Canada-US shipping, intermodal and rail, air and ocean freight, and international freight moves, and we've added warehousing, distribution, and full third-party logistics services along the way. What hasn't changed is the reason Bruce and Dana started the company: businesses need a logistics partner who treats their freight like it matters, not like it's one more line on a manifest.
Today our equipment network covers flat deck trucks, step deck trucks, double drop trailers, Super-B and B-train combinations, temperature-controlled trucks, and standard dry vans, so we can match the right equipment to the shipment instead of forcing your freight into whatever happens to be available. We also handle the paperwork that comes with all of it: bills of lading, commercial invoices, certificates of origin, carrier manifests, and proof of delivery, along with cargo insurance documentation and HAZMAT placarding and documentation for hazardous materials shipments.
