COVID-19 Preparedness & Update

With the situation around COVID-19 constantly changing, we wanted to provide you with another update on the impact of COVID-19 on our global supply chain and our transportation network.
First and foremost, C&D Logistics remains open and fully operational to support all of your logistics needs. Our team remains healthy and are continuing to practise physical distancing measures to ensure our safety.
Find out how we try to think like our customers.
Canada Domestic Transportation
Within Canada, we have seen very little impact to our transportation network. Some of our partner carriers have reduced fleet sizes due to driver-safety concerns, but we have experienced minimal delays in transit as a result of this.
Cross-Border & Intra-USA Transportation
As an essential service, freight continues to flow smoothly through the US/Canada Border. Given the worsening COVID-19 conditions throughout the USA, we have started to see a tightening of driver availability for cross-border and intra-USA shipments, as concerns regarding driver safety grow. C&D’s diverse and large carrier network, has allowed us to effectively navigate these driver shortages.

International Freight Forwarding
Ocean shipments continue to move across the global trade routes, with minimal interruptions to service. International Air shipments, though, are facing a significant capacity crunch, with passenger airlines still suspending service. Air shipments continue to experience significant volatility both in cost and availability. Our International team continues to monitor the situation closely and are prepared to work with you to deliver a variety of solutions to meet your needs.
As a reminder, in order to continue to protect our partner carriers, we are restricting Inside Deliveries, White Glove Services and Terminal Pick Ups/Drop Offs for the foreseeable future. Requests for these services will continue to be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
We know our customers deserve the best.
We appreciate your patience with any delays that may occur. Our team remains nimble is resolving any challenges that may come our way as a result of COVID-19. C&D Logistics and our entire carrier network continue to work diligently to ensure your business continues to move.

Previous Update 3:
We understand that the situation around COVID-19 is changing rapidly, which creates a lot of uncertainty for you, our clients, as you plan for your business continuity. In response to this uncertainty, C&D Logistics will be providing periodic updates which can be found on our website www.cdlogistics.ca.
Through the continued updates being provided by the US and Canadian Federal Governments, we know that preserving trade between the US/Canada border remains a priority. We continue to see transborder freight crossing with little to no border delays. Our carrier network continues to operate smoothly with minimal interruption to service. From an International Freight Forwarding perspective, Canadian Ports also remain open. We have yet to see any delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic for international freight on the ocean.
Given that the majority of passenger airlines have suspended International Routes, we are seeing limited capacity on all international air shipments, with significant volatility in air freight costs. Please reach out to our International Team, should you have an air shipment coming up, so we can continue to work with you on securing space for this.
In order to continue to protect our partner carriers, we are restricting Inside Deliveries, White Glove Services and Terminal Pick Ups/Drop Offs for the foreseeable future. Requests for these services will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, as the majority of our carriers have suspended these services.
We want to reassure you that C&D Logistics remains open and ready to support you with all your logistics needs. We appreciate your patience with any delays that may occur. We are continuing to work with our carrier network to ensure your freight, your business and our economy continues to move.
The safety and health of our employees, clients and partners remains top of mind for us. We have taken additional precautionary measures and are having some of our team members work remotely to continue to provide you the service you have come to expect.
